Dive into the fascination of the deep blue sea in contrast to the emerald green of the island's mountains! Madeira is an island whose beauty is a gift from Mother Nature.
Both apartments are in a very central location, with peaceful and relaxing views.
Within a few minutes of both apartments, there are many restaurants (Portuguese, Chinese, Indian, Italian), cafe's, bakeries and bars. There are also banks, ATMs, small supermarket and a larger supermarket. Access to the lovely promenade, where there are a couple of swimming complexes, cafe's and restaurants and you can walk along the promenade where you come to a stony and black sand beach. Carry on a little further and you come to the charming little fishing village of Cabo do Lobos.
The centre of Funchal is 10 to 15 minutes walk from our Baia Apartment and 25 to 30 minutes walk from our Roda Mar apartment. There is also a bus stop and taxi rank by the apartments, where you can take a bus to Funchal or other places on the island. Also available are day "hop on/hop off" tour buses to take you around if you prefer.
The centre of Funchal is full of an array of shops cafes etc and small cobbled streets. You can visit the Municipal Gardens in the centre.
The theatre, where you will find many concerts from the Madeira Classic Orchestra, to book if you wish. There is also the marina, where you will see cruise liners docked, and a lovely promenade walk to the Old Town.
The cable car is at the end of the promenade where you can visit Monte palace gardens and the Botanical gardens, via the cable. Explore the wide variety of lovingly tended gardens and parks that fill the air with unimaginable shades and perfumes. Thanks to the exceptional climate, you can admire flowers like orchids, birds of paradise, anthuriums, magnolias, azaleas and proteas in their natural environment all year around.
You will find the Vegetable and Fish Market in the Old Town.
Culture - Museums, Monuments of interest. Wine Tours - Blandy's. Souvenirs- Madeira Embroidery, Wicker crafts, leather and cork goods i.e. bags, shoes. Madeira Wine.
You can take several boat trips for whale and dolphin watching, or just to enjoy the waters and the views of the island from the ocean. There are also sunset cruises. Visit the Desertas Islands, certain times, and boats. Water sports - Big game fishing, Diving, jet skiing, etc.
There are several tour offices close by for arranging any Leveda Walks or tours into the Mountains or any other activities. There are many places to visit in Madeira.
