Fabulous November Fortnight
Luxury apartment with a sea view
This was our third visit to this lovely spacious and bright apartment. It is easily accessible from the airport as the ‘Aerobus’ passes the apartment.
Lots of shops and eateries close by, with a well stocked supermarket at the Forum shopping centre across the road. A pleasant 25 minute walk takes you to the centre of Funchal following the promenade for part of the way.
The owners, Marie and Adrian, are very friendly and approachable, and the welcome pack is always much appreciated.
We look forward to our next visit.
Wonderful Apartment
A very well fitted, spotlessly clean and spacious apartment, owned by a lovely English couple who could not have been more helpful.
Excellent Apartment
Very comfortable spacious modern well equipped apartment, everything you need and more for a self catering holiday.
Plenty of room to relax and enjoy the sea views.
Welcome pack provided by owners Marie and Adrian was a lovely surprise and very much appreciated. Location was ideal, 20 minutes walk to centre of Funchal
Shopping centre across the road with supermarket, taxi rank and bus stop at hand. Perfect apartment , we hope to return.
What a Lovely Holiday Apartment
Liz, and I have stayed at this apartment three times, and will be booking for 2018. It is close to all amenities ,and the apartment is well equipped for short or long stays. The shopping centre is just across the road ( Forum) plenty of good places to eat within walking distance or just get the bus to Funchal.
Great Holiday
Holiday started off very well when we were met at the airport by Manuel, a very jovial taxi driver, organised for us by Rosemarie, the apartments owner. On arrival at the apartment we were met by Rosemarie and Adrian who showed us around, and what we saw did not disappoint, the apartment was immaculate, very clean and comfortable, the bedroom spacious and had no problem sleeping in the bed which I usually do when I am on holiday, the kitchen was ideal with everything you require not only that Rosemarie had left water, butter, milk, tea, coffee and fresh rolls. The apartment is very well situated, across the road is a shopping centre with a large supermarket, the other side of the apartment is a road with a choice of restaurants, Chinese , Indian, Portuguese within a couple of minutes of apartment. To sum it up, in all my holidays of self catering this is by far the cleanest, best equipped, well maintained, very well situated apartment I have rented and would definitely go back, hopefully next year, also Rosemarie was a gem, I would definitely recommend this property to friends or relative, in fact I already have. Superb apartment with lovely views
One of the best apartments we have stayed in. Very clean, modern and comfortable with every thing you need for a great, relaxing holiday. Rose Marie is a great host and was there to meet us even though our flight had been delayed. Very helpful and welcome pack was a bonus. Great area and even though slightly out of the centre it's not a problem as bus stop outside which is very easy to use or you can take a leisurely stroll along the promanade and stop at the many lovely cafes. Would definitely recommend this apartment and look forward to returning. Thanks again Rose Marie.
Wonderful apartment
The apartment was perfect.All facilities were excellent and the owner Marie was so helpful and welcoming.It was quiet, with a great balcony and a very good supermarket and food court across the street.I would recommend this apartment for an unforgettable holiday on a very beautiful island
Excellent apartment in a great location.
We have been visiting the beautiful island of Madeira for some 14 years, usually making 2 or 3 visits each year and have stayed in a wide variety of hotels and apartments.
This apartment is right up there with the very best.
I don't think we have received a better welcome anywhere.
Owners, Marie & Adrian greeted us at the apartment and also provided an excellent "welcome pack" which meant we could relax immediately without thinking of having to rush to the shops to get essentials.
They also provide a book full of all the information needed for this apartment and also useful information for travel / entertainment. They made themselves available for our entire stay if we had any problems. Pleased to say we didn't need to contact them.
We met a couple of the residents in this block who were very friendly and, more importantly to us, very quiet at night!
Apartment is close to all facilities we needed, main shopping forum is just across the road with good cafes and restaurants nearby.
Highly recommended.

Absolutely Fabulous
Having read all the reviews we were delighted to find every one was spot on. Rosemarie arranged for the taxi to meet us at the airport, welcomed us to the apartment and left an assortment of goodies. As other reviewers have noted, the apartment is spacious, spotlessly clean and has an extremely comfortable bed.
We had breakfast every morning on the large balcony, which is a sun trap. Sunshade provided if required..........as is everything else you should ever need!
We walked west along the promenade to Camara de Lobos and east to the centre of Funchal. The number 48 bus, which stops just down the road from the apartment, took us to Monte, and the cable car back to Funchal centre was great fun.
Would highly recommend a minibus tour of the west and north of the island. Cabo Girao, the highest cliff skywalk in Europe, was amazing, as were all the other stops we made on the tour.
Goya restaurant was our favourite. We ate there 3 evenings out of 7. The ponchas at Mona Lisa, on the promenade, were quite addictive. Luckily we didn't discover them until the 5th day of our holiday!
Not a day went by when we didn't have coffee, cake or a snack at the bakery across the road. Busy with locals. Always a good sign.
Our first visit to Madeira was wonderful, mainly due to this fabulous apartment. We will return!
Superb Apartment
My partner and I have just returned from a five week stay in this superb apartment. If you are looking for a holiday rental in Funchal look no further, this is the best of the best.
We were delighted when we arrived to find a spacious, modern, immaculate apartment which is furnished to a very high standard.
The owners, Adrian and Rosemarie, where there to greet us on the day of our arrival and provide us with any relevant information regarding the apartment and local amenities. They also left us a very generous welcome pack which was much appreciated.
The owners have provided everything you could possibly need to make your stay enjoyable. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and leads onto the balcony where you can sit and have breakfast in the sun or relax later in the day on the sun lounger with a glass of wine, just perfect!
Looking through the patio windows in the lounge you have the most wonderful views of the sun rise and can watch the cruise ships sail into port. On several evenings we watched cruise ships leaving and heading off across the Atlantic, sailing close to the shore line with all their lights on it was quite magical.
Something that is important to us is a good night's sleep, we found the apartment block to be quiet and we slept well on the very comfortable bed.
The public areas in the apartment block are all clean and tidy and the residents friendly and helpful, always ready to hold the door open and wish you a "nice day". For any first time visitor to Madeira I would like to say that Madeira is a good and safe place to be.
The apartment is located close to all amenities; for anyone looking for some retail therapy the Forum Shopping centre is just across the road and has shops for everyone. Within the immediate area there are lots of good quality restaurants and coffee shops, offering fine dining to something more casual.
From the apartment you can enjoy a walk down into Funchal city centre, or in the opposite direction to Camara do Lobos, along the way admiring the landscape and sea view whilst topping up the vitamin D.
We have been frequent visitors to Madeira over many years and wish we had found this apartment before, it is the best apartment we have stayed in and exceeded our expectations in every way, it is wonderful to know you are returning each night to a perfect place and this makes the holiday even better.
We had a fabulous stay and have already booked our return visits for 2017.
Amazing Property, Fantastic Views, Fab Location
We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It was clean, light, safe, spacious and had everything that you might need for a great holiday. We especially loved the views of the sea from every room! The living area was great for sitting and watching the boats on the sea and searching for sight of whales! The balcony was great also especially to sit with a glass of wine and a book! The location was brilliant, near to the shops, supermarket, seafront, bus stop into Funchal and the airport. Taxi driver recommended by Rose Marie highly efficient and attentive - we would definitely recommend his services. Finally Rose Marie gave us a fantastic welcome with supplies of milk, eggs and wine in the fridge which was very kind. She was attentive throughout the stay and even helped us out at the end of stay by sending something back to the UK that we had left in the property. All in all a fantastic place, thoroughly recommended for a self catering getaway. We will be back to Apartment Roda Mar.
Excellent, spacious, well equipped apartment!
This was a home from home! This apartment totally lived up to our expectations. It was excellently situated for nearby peace & tranquility through high quality coastal pathway walks! ( Recommend The Magic Tearoom) yet, within a minute's walk is a high quality shopping mall with supermarket and several excellent reastaurant said! Our favourite was O' Classico!
The apartment has comfortable bed, immaculately clean, & tastefully furnished. There are plenty books, cd,s & dvd's if by any chance there is a wet day.
We cannot recommend highly enough.
